Ashes Remain Is Back After Six Years
Ashes Remain is back after over six years. Pop/rock fan favorites long-awaited return sees their BEC Recordings debut project titled, "Let The Light In," on October 27. Let The Light In features ten tracks and is produced by 7eventh Time Down frontman Mikey Howard. The album features hit single “All of Me” produced by GRAMMY®-winner Seth Mosley and Mike “X” O’Connor and Christian Rock single "Rise."
Let The Light In showcases a sonic diversity sound with driving rock anthems to pop ballads which have become synonymous with Ashes Remain. “All I Need,” written by lead vocalist and group co-founder, Josh Smith, inspired the project’s title. All I Need is written about Josh's testament to commitment through perseverance, marriage. Smith also draws parallels to his relationship with God, as well as the band’s overarching purpose on the track.
“I know every generation feels the world is getting darker, turning more and more evil,” Smith says. “But I really believe that if we cling to God and cling to each other, that’s how we let the light in. That’s how we change the world. It’s not necessarily these huge, grandiose acts. It’s important for me to remind myself every day that no matter where Ashes Remain is, the best thing we can do is love the people in the room, the people right in front of us.”
Other honorable mentions and highlights of the project include “Rise,” “Captain,” which addresses addiction and freedom found in Christ; “Six Feet Down,” a tribute to the sacrifices of military personnel and first responders; and “Follow.”
The band comprised of lead vocalist and co-founder Josh Smith; co-founder Ryan Nalepa on rhythm guitar; Rob Tahan on lead guitar; Ben Kirk on drums and Jon Hively on bass.
Ashes Remain's last project, 2011's What I’ve Become featured hit singles such as, “On My Own,” “Unbroken” and “Come Alive” and landed them on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums and coveted Heatseekers charts. The BEC Recordings’ Ashes Remain has been carving a unique niche at the crossroads of pop and hard rock for the last 15 years with three full-length releases and two EPs.
