John Tibbs' Independently Releases New Track
Singer/songwriter John Tibbs independently releases today the third single and worship track "Shepherd (feat. Sandra McCracken)" from his Heartland EP set to release Oct. 13 on Windmill & Wave Records with Tone Tree Music distribution and Heritage (an imprint of Bethel Music) digital marketing. Pledgers who pre-order the EP at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/johntibbs will receive an instant download of the new song, as well as the project's title track and Tibbs' first single, "Won't Let Me Go."
"I've been on a 'faith journey' this last year and a half," says Tibbs, sharing the impetus behind the new song that was produced by Ben Shive (Colony House, Rend Collective, Ellie Holcomb). "There has been such a divisive political climate around the world that's caused a lot of anger, fear, and pain. Maybe it's a brand-new thing, or more likely, my eyes are just now seeing this divisiveness and the reality of our separation from God. Either way, my heart, and faith have been shredded apart and reconstructed over and over again.
"Through it all, Psalm 23 has become a cornerstone for me throughout this process," continues Tibbs, revealing the scripture "Shepherd" is based on. "What I have discovered is that there is freedom found in faith. I want to live and love out of that peace and comfort, looking toward the Lord to guide me as I follow Him."
"John's new version of Psalm 23 gives a refreshing lift to my spirits," adds Sandra McCracken, whose vocals are featured on the new track. "It's a reminder of the triumph of God's rest."
In addition to the three songs mentioned above, PledgeMusic is offering a variety of limited-edition products and exclusives from Tibbs. Some of the items being offered include a Skype meeting and a walking tour of Nashville with Tibbs, an invitation to a listening party for the new album, an acoustic concert at the pledger's house by Tibbs and much more. All pledgers will also gain exclusive access to new music, videos from the studio, photos from the road, sneak peeks at unfinished tracks and more.
Playing the new music from Heartland along with his fan favorites while on tour, Tibbs joins Mercy Me, TobyMac, Casting Crowns and many others in a "Night of Hope" Hurricane Harvey relief concert Sept. 20 at Verizon Theater in Dallas, TX. All the proceeds from the event will benefit Gulf Coast victims via Convoy of Hope. Tickets to the event are available now at www.axs.com/events/342611/night-of-hope-tickets.
"I'm proud to partner with these artists and KLTY, WAY-FM, Air1, and KCBI to do my part in joining the incredible response of folks serving those devastated by Harvey," says Tibbs, who is also looking for ways now to help those who have suffered through Hurricane Irma.
