GLOBAL HYMN SING “Jesus Shall Reign”
With over two billion of the world's population (29%) living in places with little or no access to the Gospel, there is a desperate need for persons to share the good news of Jesus with them. Getty Music is continuing its partnership with OMF International to again host a Global Hymn Sing.
Global Hymn Sing invites churches to come together in their worship gatherings, in solidarity with brothers and sisters all over the world, and sing a hymn to inspire thought, prayer, and action toward global evangelism. Over 1.5 million people in more than one-hundred countries have responded to the call to sing together with one voice, and this year you and your church can join that chorus! On Sunday, February 25, churches everywhere will be singing the missions hymn “Jesus Shall Reign” in support of Global Missions to the unreached! Listen Keith Getty speak on the Global Hymn Sing initiative.
Jesus Shall Reign has been a famous missionary hymn for generations and was sung by the great missionary and Olympic sprinter Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire) at the train station in Edinburgh as he embarked on a missionary journey to China. While interned during World War 2, Eric served alongside China Inland Mission (now OMF) workers, along with other organizations. He even gave his running shoes to a CIM mission kid named Steve Metcalfe, who he challenged to become a missionary to the Japanese, which he did! Listen to Jesus Shall Reign below.
